Our MRCSA Teams
The Medical Reserve Corps is built on a series of specialized teams which can be deployed as a single team or as a multi-disciplined unit. Our Teams are listed here. These teams allow volunteers to apply their skills and training to best address community needs.
Public Health Team
Shelter Support Team
Mass Casualty Incident Response Team (MCIRT)
The Mission of the Public Health Team is to provide ongoing support of public health services and health promotion efforts and to serve as a force multiplier during a public health emergency.
The Mission of the Shelter Support Team is to assist community partners, including the American Red Cross and the County Health Department in responding to disasters that require emergency and evacuation shelters.
The Mission of the MCIRT is to assist local, regional and national agencies and organizations in response to a mass casualty incident by addressing the physical and emotional needs of of survivors, famiiles and friends and responders.
Crisis Response Team
The Mission of the Crisis Response Team is to minimize the harmful psychological effects of stress and trauma on individuals and families immediately following a disaster or public health emergency. Team members are trained in Psychological First Aid and Mental Health First Aid.
Heat Action Team
The Mission of the Heat Action Team is to reduce heat-related illness and death in vulnerable populations through proactive community outreach, public education, and direct emergency response during extreme heat events. The Heat Action Team supports the Youth Heat Ambassador project and the Health Department's Heat Hotline.
Community Engagement Team
The Mission of the Community Engagement team is to reduce community vulnerabilities by promoting individual, family and whole community preparedness through training and activities that help to improve health, wellness and emergency planning.
