Emergency Management

The MRCSA will be incorporated into both the Pima County Emergency Operations Plan through the Emergency Support Function 8 (ESF) and the Emergency Operations Center call-out system. The Emergency Operations Center, in coordination with the Pima County Health Department's Medical Director, will activate the MRCSA when necessary. The MRCSA will enchance and improve the emergency medical response capacity in Southern Arizona. The program will support Pima County's ability to respond to natural disasters or acts of terrorism and to help manage public health emergencies, clinics, distribution of the strategic national stockpile, and assist in overflow treatment areas and field hospitals. With pre-planning, pre-identification of treatment sites and pre-identified, certified, and trained volunteers, a safe, rapid, and effective response will be available when needed.
